Overview

Our work intersects urban design, landscape architecture and placemaking – from the CBD to suburbs. We specialise in an evidence-based, people-first approach to designing and activating public spaces, an approach championed by renowned urban designers and change makers across the globe, such as Jane Jacobs, William H Whyte and Jan Gehl. This approach helps us to deliver measurable benefits for our clients and their communities.

Public Life Surveys

Developed in the mid-1960’s by renowned Urban Designer Jan Gehl, Public Life Surveys provide quantitative evidence about the relationships between people, public life and the quality of urban spaces.

Commercial

Our approach transforms a commercial project into a place people want to live in, work in, and visit. Our experience in local government and consent applications means what goes down on paper at conception is delivered at completion.

Placemaking

Placemaking is about the human interactions that make public spaces great. Our placemaking process puts people and shared experiences at the heart of all our projects.

Urban Design

More than 80% of New Zealanders live in towns and cities. Our aim is to improve their quality of life while supporting the functional needs of urban centres – from efficient transport to economic growth.

Open Spaces

We believe the best spaces are lively, safe places that attract a diverse range of people. We can help to transform under-utilised outdoor spaces into great destinations that foster community and ecological health.
